For the last week or so, I have had difficulty getting to sleep and staying asleep. I’m not going to lie; it hasn’t been fun. Well, mostly not fun. I’ve had some wonderfully insane dreams in the short bits of time when I did sleep.
Part of me wants to blame The Conjuring 2. Normally, I wouldn’t be afraid of horror movies, but for some reason,
this one got to me. I keep expecting to look across the room and see a dark figure watching me. I’m taking this as a sign it was a good movie. It set out to do what it was supposed to do at any rate. Plus, there was something very appealing about the look of the film that I can’t exactly describe (hence the reason I’m not a critic!).
Total side-bar for a moment. I’m never going to the theater to see a horror movie again. My husband and I had the worst experience. People talking to the screen, asking questions about what they’re seeing (loudly), and laughing at very unfunny parts. Not like nervous laughing, though–braying, donkey-head laughing that totally took me out of the film. The one cool thing was a woman seriously screamed out of fear at one scene and that made me more impressed with the film.
Anyway, the movie was definitely good. I’m not going to say that I think it was better than the first one, though others have. Still up there as one of my favorite horror flicks.
In other news, I’m almost done working on an outline for another story. It’s not on my priority writing list since I feel that Bought needs to be completed before writing another novel. This outline is just to preserve my ideas (since I have a lot of them). I never thought I’d want to write a young adult novel, but it’s calling for me.
Welp, back to the old drawing board or maybe nap-time to grab a few more sleeps. Happy Monday!
